Rescue Center: A shelter with love for pets.

One day, when I was driving along a left-out shop lots, I founded something was moving nearby drain. And the first think flash in my mind is maybe that’s a fat rat. You know, peaceful street, abandoned shop lots, come out from drain. But, my curiosity somehow makes me to stop my car and have a glanced of it.  God’s sake is a little puppy. Dark brown, female with black tail little puppy that abandoned by irresponsible owner. Why I so sure? There is no other puppy, no mummy and hello, dogs does not give birth at drain okay?!. Oh, how I going to take it back, I don’t own a house but with the gift by God to mankind, LOVE which is deep inside in every human, forced myself not to leave it there. Puppy cover with ants, cats’ ticks (Vet told me is cats’ ticks instead of dog ticks XD) and fleas. What a pity little one.

So vet apply a medicine on it to remove the ticks and feed with fenbendazole (a kind syrup to kill stomach parasite and worms). And I bring it to my friend factory. There is advantage because the puppy still small, so make less noise and the food production factory owner will know now I hide it there.*chuckled*. Bought a substitute milk too and the mummy act (feeding, bathing and 100% care) begins. The first night is in chaos. The puppy seems unable to suck from baby bottle. And so I fed on tablespoon (laughed) slowly warmed her stomach. And I think for the first night, she slept in warm and filled stomach. I wonder how this little puppy have so much determination to keep move for somebody to noticed it, the days before I found it is the worst haze day in JB and rained on that night. Maybe this is God destined.  Second day puppy gets closer to me, it knows when is feeding time and I know how to feed in right way (congratulation to both of us!). It able to walk but still weak. Third day comes with one bad news and good news. Good news is the puppy start to play with me, come to me for a cuddle before asleep and it smell good on third day. Because 2 days before the puppy cannot bath due to the medicine apply to its body.  Bad news is my friend father finds out. And I know I can’t beg to keep this puppy, is a food production factory, I might harmed their whole factory. So, flashed in mind an animal rescue center read from Sin Chew Daily before. So, find its map and headed we go to place the puppy there.

For information, the animal rescue center is stands for Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Sanctuary (NANAS), which is located in Pekan Nanas, Johor after migrate from Singapore. Migrate due to shorten of shelter and space for the stray animals in Singapore.  NANAS is owned by Raymund which also a veterinar, all animals daddy, main sponsor for all the animals there. He sponsored around rm40K each month for all the animals there. Until now, NANAS have 850 different species of dogs and others are cats, horses, monkeys and rabbits and total up to 1100 animals that is abandoned, tortured, injured and left out at road sides.  NANAS also have a sterilization program held each year to sterilize the stray dogs or cats in order to control the population of stray animals. This is indeed a good way; stray animals aren’t having good life especially those we see that cars just rolled their tyre on them cruelly.

So, I place the puppy there and named as Niko, I just afford to sponsor rm20 to buy their calendar and also volunteer myself each weekend to take care of the animals there. With so many animals that need for cares, the volunteer can be count on fingers. I guess most people are selfish to spend their weekend for themselves instead of helping others. Even during my schooldays,” gotong-royong” is a must absent day or ponteng (skipped) day. We not helpful isn’t we? Looking at all the animals, to name a few of the famous dog species; Siberian Husky, Dachshund, Hush Puppies,Poodle,German Shepherd, American Bulldog and Golden Retriver, aren’t they cost 1K in pet shop for just a month. What I saw is a grown up such expensive dogs are placed into NANAS, and all these causes by irresponsible human. BUY ON IMPULSE!!. The doggies there mixed well, huge and healthy under care and love. All the animals there share a same story, left behind.  Why those animals those that are love and play with owners, fill humans with laugh, wagging tail ends up left behind? Have those humans forgotten that the first day they planned to own them; they have the RESPONSIBLE to take care forever? And now they wave goodbye for them.  Pets are like kids. They need full supervision and love. And that is what human treated them. Excuses: no time, not affordable and no space for them. Some even tortured them!

I know I can’t afford to sponsor much, and so I will play my part as God child to send out loves, I go there every weekend to play with them.  NANAS is such a great and awesome place and thanks to the owner, Raymund of building this shelter for their H.O.M.E.S. But it does change my thinking from browsing through internet shopping to sponsor for these cutes and lovely animals.

You can even re-homed one to become your pet too as long as you promised not to left them behind no matter what. I found out myself was keep on promoting NANAS in facebook, friends and blogs. All I want is to awaken people to notice this small part of animals is waiting for us to noticed.
